Confirmation
After you accept a quote, Mendly puts an authorization hold on your card for the agreed amount. No money has been charged yet — this is a hold like a hotel deposit.
You'll see this hold on your statement as "Mendly Halifax — pending."
Pro on the way
When the pro taps "I've Arrived" in their app:
- We send you a push + email notification with a 4-digit identity PIN
- The pro shows the PIN on their phone — verify it matches before letting them in
In progress
The job timer starts when the pro taps "Start Job." For hourly jobs you can track time live in the app.
Completion
The pro uploads after-photos and taps "End Job." You confirm with "Mark Complete" or, if there's a problem, you can report an issue.
Capture
2-3 days after completion (Stripe's standard transfer window):
- The actual amount worked is captured from your hold
- 85% transfers to the pro automatically
- 15% covers Mendly
- An invoice lands in your inbox
If the final amount is less than the hold, the unused part is released automatically. If it's more (e.g. job extension you approved), the extra is captured.
