- Stripe handles all card data — Mendly never sees or stores your card number
What a "hold" means
When you confirm a booking, your card is authorized, not charged. The hold reduces your available credit but no money moves.
- Hourly bookings: hold = estimated max (rate × max hours)
- Fixed-price bookings: hold = quote total
- Estimate visits: hold = visit fee
When does money move?
- Normal jobs: when the pro marks complete (capture happens within seconds)
- Estimate visits: when the pro arrives and starts the visit
- Final complex jobs: when the pro marks the job complete
If you cancel before capture, the hold is released the same day — your bank may take 3-5 business days to reflect it.
