Two ways to book
Mendly gives customers two ways to start so you always get the right balance of control and options.
1. Choose pro
Pick one provider yourself. This is best when you like a specific profile, rating, price, or availability. For normal services like cleaning, lawn care, painting, handyman, snow removal, locksmith, movers, the pro sends a job quote and your card is held — not charged — after you accept.
When the pro marks the job complete with photos, the capture happens automatically:
- 85% of the total goes to the pro
- 15% platform fee covers Stripe, insurance, support, and ongoing app development
2. Get quotes
Send one request to 3-5 nearby qualified pros. For normal services, pros send job quotes. For complex services like plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, pros respond with range estimates plus their estimate visit fee. Pick the pro you trust, schedule the visit, and they'll deliver a binding final quote after seeing the job.
- Visit fee is charged separately on the day of the visit (typically $0–$80)
- Mendly takes a small flat cut: $5 if visit fee < $50, $10 if ≥ $50, $0 for free estimates
- The full job is a separate payment hold + capture with the same 15% commission
You can cancel the job at the final-quote step with no extra charge — only the visit fee stays paid.
Why both flows?
The trades that need eyes-on for accurate quotes can't price from photos alone, but cleaning or lawn care can. Two service flows means we never pretend every job prices the same way.
